A peaceful, verdant oasis.
Drios, Paros Greece, is a very special location in the southeastern part of Paros.
“Drios is lush due to its abundance of water, quiet and has a clean sea. The beach has fine pebbles and tamarisk trees provide shade along with the area’s pleasant cool breezes makes you feel good.”
— Petros Tsigonias, son of the owners of Tarsa
Taking the coastal path, you reach Golden Beach after 10 minutes walk, but you can continue your walk along to Pisso Livadi, passing through 5 different beaches on the way.
Other walks of interest are up to the rural area Lagada (around 1 hour) up the river and to the spring at Afkoulaki (1 hour), to Lefkes (2 hours), the monastery of Agii Theodori (2 hours) and even as far as Kamari and Angeria (around 3.5 hours of walking).
Drios may be a small village but it is innovative.
You will find the exceptional mini-market Anousakis with rare and carefully chosen gourmet products from international cuisine as well as a 24 hour petrol station.
The Drios locals are open-hearted and happy, and willing to guide you around the area. Many locals are involved with agricultural products and livestock, so you will easily find fresh local fruit and vegetables, wine, souma, honey, eggs and Paros cheeses – directly from the producers or from local grocery shops.
Drios and the surrounding area are ideal for hiking, cycling, windsurfing, scuba diving, dancing, yoga (at the Golden Beach open-air dance school), mini cruises to neighbouring islands are also possible.
The beach of Drios and the nearby beaches along the coast are suitable for families with children.
